Admission requirements
- The student must have a master's degree in Agricultural Sciences.
- The average GPA of the courses studied by the student in the Master's degree must be at least very good.
- That the student should devote himself while studying at least two days per week.
- The student’s enrollment in postgraduate studies shall be canceled if he does not obtain a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Agricultural Sciences within five years from the date of his enrollment. The student’s enrollment may be extended after that at the request of the direct supervisor, the recommendation of the competent Department Council and the approval of the Faculty Council on that, up to a maximum of one Gregorian year.
Conditions for awarding the degree
The student studies courses with at least 42 credit hours of graduate courses. These include compulsory courses (21 credit hours) and elective courses (12 credit hours) from within or outside the branch of specialization. The student is required to obtain at least a very good grade in the GPA of all assigned courses. The student continues study and research for a period of at least three years from the date of his enrollment. The student submits a certificate stating his qualification in the English language at the level determined by the Faculty Council.
The student submits evidence of his success in the qualifying exam. The committee authorized to examine the student is composed of five professors, including the direct supervisor.
Registration Requests Submission
In all programs offered by the college, registration is open twice in the academic year, during the first half of January for the second semester and during the first half of August for the first semester. Applications are submitted to the employee in charge of the Graduate Studies Department at the Faculty.
PhD study fees
230 Egyptian pounds for the year of enrollment and 165 Egyptian pounds for each year following the year of enrollment for Egyptian students working in research centers and institutes.
560 EGP for the year of enrollment, 215 EGP for each year following the year of enrollment for Egyptian students working as Agricultural Engineers.
525 pounds for research support fees to be paid each academic year.
4,200 pounds Sterling for the year of enrollment, then 2,500 pounds Sterling for each year following the year of enrollment for non-Egyptians.
