Duties and responsibilities of the Vice Dean for Education and Students Affairs

1- Raising students awareness about the Faculty and University rules and regulations and their executive rules related to students.

2- Helping students choose the appropriate specialization for them among the various college programs, whether Arabic or English language programs

3- Supervising the programs and activities provided to students; supervising the services provided to them, and working on developing and updating them

4- Establishing the necessary procedures to control the attendance of students and follow up their regularity

5- Follow up of students databases, working to update them, taking care of students' rights and taking appropriate means to preserve them

6- Studying students’ grievances and their problems, proposing appropriate solutions to them, and coordinating in this with the relevant authorities in the Faculty

7- Chairing student cases committees, chairing disciplinary committees for violating students, and applying legal procedures against them

8- Spreading the culture of academic advising in the Faculty

9- Suggesting a plan for student activities at the Faculty and supervising its implementation

10- Working on building links with graduates and following up graduates to find out the satisfaction of employers in the labor market with the outputs of the Faculty

11- Working to raise the work efficiency in the Administration of Student Affairs

12- Approval of examination results in accordance with established regulations and policies

13- Verifying the availability of academic references in various disciplines in coordination with the scientific departments, the Central Library and the Faculty Library and working to provide learning resources and study references in the various disciplines of the Faculty in coordination with the relevant authorities at the University and developing assessment methods and tools in the Faculty

 

 

 

Conditions for applying for English language programs

Admission Requirements:

1 The student must be a candidate for the Faculty through the Coordination Office or a transfer or relocation of his registration for the same Academic Year and fulfilling the minimum for admission to the Faculty for the Agricultural sector, provided that the student’s score in the English language is not less than 70%, taking into account the allocation of some places for students of Foreign and Arab Equivalent Certificates, as well as International Students upon acceptance, provided that the specified English language score is met (70%).

2- Study in these programs starts in the first academic year; teaching and examinations are in English.

First: Programs taught in English and the conditions for joining them:

1- Biotechnology Program.

2- International Agriculture Program, which contains three major specializations. The student can enroll in one of them according to his desire and study of the eligible subjects, which are:

A- Organic farming

B- Agricultural Business Management

C- Rural Community Development

3- Food Processing Technology Program.

4- Forestry Program.

Second: Steps for application and admission controls for students who meet the requirements:

1- The nomination card + the receipt of the Coordination Office + a copy of the High School Certificate (or the receipt of the Central Transfer Office + a copy of the High School Certificate for the transferred or relocated student) to be submitted to the Transfer Office at the University at the link (www.eservices.cu.edu.eg).

2- The student pays an amount of (400 pounds) four hundred pounds in exchange for joining the English Language Programs + (250 pounds) two hundred and fifty pounds for the personal interview for the Biotechnology Program as well as the Food Processing Technology Program and withdraws the enrollment envelope (inside this envelope is a guide containing the advantages of the specialization and its academic courses. There is also an application for admission + an acknowledgment from the student stating that he has accepted all costs for this major).

3- Choice is made among applicants to join these programs to meet the required number for each program in accordance with the regulations set by the Faculty Council in advance.

4- The result of admission to all programs is announced in the form of lists at the beginning of the first week of the start of the study.

5- The student pays for the educational services of the Biotechnology, International Agriculture and Forestry Programs, an amount of 1400 pounds per course (only one thousand four hundred Egyptian pounds for one course) +10% administrative fees for the University according to the decision of the University Council in this regard to be paid annually other than the actual cost of books and notes. Fees shall be paid before electronic registration from the date of announcing the lists of those admitted to these programs, otherwise their acceptance shall be considered null for all programs and specializations taught in English. Note that the minimum registration is (12 credits) a semester and the maximum is (21 credits).

For the Food Processing Technology Program - European System (ECTS) students, the student pays an amount of (425 pounds) for each academic unit, bearing in mind that the minimum registration is 20 credits and the maximum is 35 credits per semester according to the credit hour system, excluding Faculty fees.
